The inspiration behind our journey

Nomads for Peace and Love began when a small group, seeking to be vessels for peace and love, felt a profound call. Inspired by the venerable monks on their "walk for peace," we envisioned a bicycle journey. This 14-day, 1000-mile ride from Rockmart, GA, to the Community of Christ Temple in Independence, MO, is more than a race; it's a prayer in motion, connecting with congregations and sharing love mile by mile. It's a witness to living the gospel through action.

Our enduring principles

Our mission is built upon three enduring principles from the Community of Christ: "The sacredness of creation," reminding us to ride gently on this earth and care for it; "the worth of all persons," affirming that every individual is loved with immeasurable love by God; and "pursuing peace," a belief that peace is not static but a lived, active practice. These principles guide every pedal stroke of our journey.

Who are the nomads?

We are a small but dedicated group from the Southeast USA Mission Center of Community of Christ, spanning GA, SC, NC, FL, and OH. We are united by a common longing to share peace and love beyond buildings, meeting people where they are. Our group is diverse in age, ethnicity, and gender, yet we share one belief: all are worthy of love and peace. This shared purpose brings us together on this remarkable journey.

"This ride is simply a beginning to finding ways of sharing God's love, hope, peace and joy."
